Browns postgame player reactions vs. Chargers

BROWNS DEFENSIVE END XAVIER COOPER

On what San Diego did to produce big plays:
"It was more what we did to ourselves than what they did. We have to tackle better, we have to be in the right places and do all the things you need to do to play sound football. I think we can get back to that and be successful."

How do you guys bounce back after such a tough loss?
"It's the NFL and there's probably a lot of teams with tough losses today. We have another week and another opportunity ahead to showcase what we can do."

On his thoughts about Philip Rivers and how he is on the field:
"Philip is a competitor and I hear him out there competing just like everybody else and talking to his guys. He's one of the better quarterbacks in the league and great at getting guys to jump offsides. I studied him well and didn't have a penalty this week thank God."

BROWNS RUNNING BACK ISAIAH CROWELL

On his 32-yard run in the first quarter:
"It was just my offensive line opening up the gap for me and I just did the easy part. I just ran through it and kept going so it's mainly on the guys up front and I give them a lot of credit."

On his 53-yard catch and run in the third quarter that led to a field goal:
"I went through my progression and gave the quarterback my eyes so he dumped it out to me and I did the rest."

What are your thoughts about where the offense and the team stands right now?
"I feel like we have done a lot of good and fought really hard but we have a lot of improvements to make. There are a lot of things to put together but I feel like we are on our way."

BROWNS RUNNINGBACK DUKE JOHNSON JR.**

On if he was looking forward to being used in the passing game:
"That's one of the reasons why I'm here. To help them in the passing game and helping out when we get in trouble and have to dink and dunk to be able to get yards."

How tough is this loss on the team?
"One thing it shows is that we're going to fight until the end. We're not going to lay down for anybody but it's tough for both sides after we fought so hard. We just have to come out with it next time."

BROWNS OUTSIDE LINEBACKER PAUL KRUGER

On getting pressure on the quarterback:
"There were a number of one-on-one rushes that I didn't win. Those are things that can't happen and those
are rushes that I have to win. It took me too long to get in rhythm and I felt that the times I was getting there it was too late in the game. It's a really tough loss, especially after the way our defense played at times."

What are your thoughts on Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers?
"He has been a hell of a player for a long time and he's a guy you have to respect. He can hurt you in a lot of different ways. One thing he does well is adjust during the game. He finds ways to make game time
adjustments during a play that can hurt you. He is a good player and has been a steady guy for a long time."Change time.
