· Joined the Browns in 2022 following eight seasons coaching at the collegiate level. Coaches the nickels and works closely with the cornerbacks.
· First joined the Browns as a Bill Walsh NFL Diversity Coaching Fellow in 2021, an opportunity each NFL team offers to minority coaches during offseason programs.
· Served as the cornerbacks coach in the 2024 East-West Shrine Bowl and the safeties coach in the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl.
· In 2024, the Browns were the only NFL team to not allow a 300-yard passer. CB Denzel Ward led the NFL with a career-high 19 passes defensed en route to his fourth Pro Bowl selection, tied for the most by a Browns corner.
· In 2023, the Browns defense led the NFL in several categories including total defense (270.2 yards per game), passing defense (164.7 yards per game), third down percentage (67-of-230 for 29.1 percent) and first downs allowed (253). The team's 270.2 net yards allowed per game were the fewest allowed in the NFL since the 2014 Seahawks (267.1) and the fewest allowed by a Browns team since 1957. Cleveland also led the league by forcing 112 punts, the third-most forced by an NFL team since 1970. DE Myles Garrett was named the 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year as well as earning first team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors. Ward and LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah were also Pro Bowl selections.
· During first season as defensive quality control coach, Garrett was named to the Pro Bowl and the Associated Press All-Pro second team. Garrett also tied his own single-season team record with 16 sacks, tied for the second-most in the NFL in 2022.
· Prior to the Browns, spent two seasons (2020-21) coaching the corners at Cal Poly.
· Served as a graduate assistant at San Jose State (2018-19) and Northern Colorado (2017).
· Began coaching career at Contra Costa College in 2014. Originally named quarterbacks coach in his first season, promoted to offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach in 2015 and added the responsibilities of assistant head coach in 2016. In his three seasons, Contra Costa College won two conference championships.
· Played quarterback for two seasons at Contra Costa College and two seasons at Texas Southern University.
· Graduated from Texas Southern with a major in liberal arts.
