Greogry D. Rush is entering his 19th season with the Browns and fourth as Chief Financial Officer for the Haslam Sports Group (HSG) after serving as Vice President of Finance for the previous five years for the Cleveland Browns. In his role as CFO, Rush is an imperative decision-maker for HSG, which owns and operates the Cleveland Browns, Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Rush has shown tremendous leadership while overseeing HSG's finance and accounting departments, focusing on all elements related to budget, treasury management, league reporting and tax and risk management functions for several years. From 2019-2021, Rush oversaw business analytics and ticket operations functions. Starting in 2020 through 2022, he also served as the team's primary contact for all operations, security and maintenance of Huntington Bank Field, as well as oversaw the dayto-day management of the information technology staff. In 2023, he began to oversee the responsibilities of the ticket sales and services departments for the Cleveland Browns and continues to oversee ticket operations.
After HSG's acquisition of operator rights of Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew in 2019, Rush also began overseeing all of these primary areas for the 2020 & 2023 MLS Cup Champions. In 2022, Lower. com Field was also recognized as a finalist for SportsBusiness Journals' 2022 "Sports Facility of the Year" award.
Rush was a key contributor during the renovation of the Browns' facility in Berea in 2016, when the Haslams and the City of Berea agreed to invest nearly $15 million in the training and administrative complex. The development resulted in first-class amenities throughout the building, to create a bestin-class environment not only for the team's coaches and players but for every member of the organization. Additionally, he was highly involved with the team's investment in Huntington Bank Field throughout its two-phase, $125 million modernization following the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
Also, Rush serves as the team's primary liaison with Huntington Bank Field's hospitality partner and concessionaire Aramark, overseeing major renovations and updates to the services provided at Huntington Bank Field to enhance the fan experience during the 2022-2023 seasons. He also serves as an integral part of the Browns partnership with retailer Fanatics, which expanded in 2023 to operate the club's e-commerce and in-venue retail businesses including the Pro Shop. This responsibility extends to HSG's partnership with Levy Restaurants for dining and hospitality and Rank & Rally for retail and merchandise at Lower.com Field and Historic Crew Stadium.
For the past 13 years, Rush has served on the Board of Directors for Providence House, Ohio's first crisis nursery that helps provide emergency shelter and care for children, newborn through age 12, who are at risk of abuse or neglect while offering family support services to strengthen and stabilize families long term. Previously, he served as Providence House's Board Chair from 2020-2024. He also volunteers annually as a coach for the Cleveland Browns Adapted Football League, which provides children with disabilities the opportunity to participate in an organized, competitive and developmental sport, in partnership with Achievement Centers for Children. He was also named a member of the Leadership Cleveland Class of 2024, which is an intensive 10-month program that challenges leaders who have a passion for Cleveland to improve the region for all residents.
A graduate of Wake Forest with a bachelor's and master's degree in accounting, Rush held positions in finance with Arthur Anderson, LLP, Agrana and Demag Plastics Group before joining the Browns. He now resides in Strongsville with his wife, Kristen, and has one son, Brandon and one daughter, Joelle.
