The Cleveland Browns' opponents for the 2015 preseason were announced Thursday by the NFL, and the club will play in front of a nationally televised ESPN audience Thursday, Aug. 20, at FirstEnergy Stadium against the Buffalo Bills.

The rest of the schedule goes as follows:

2015 CLEVELAND BROWNS PRESEASON OPPONENTS

*WEEK        DATES                  OPPONENT                  SITE                 *

1             Aug. 13-17    vs.     Washington Redskins      FirstEnergy Stadium

2             Aug. 20          vs.     Buffalo Bills (ESPN)      FirstEnergy Stadium

3             Aug. 27-30    at      Tampa Bay Buccaneers   Raymond James Stadium

4             Sept. 3-4        at      Chicago Bears                 Soldier Field

Specific dates and times for all of the team's preseason games will be announced by the Browns in the near future. The league is also expected to release the regular-season schedule this month.

Head coach Mike Pettine and the Browns will open the preseason with the Washington Redskins one year after losing a 24-23 nail-biter last August in Washington. Cleveland will unveil the much anticipated Phase 2 renovations to FirstEnergy Stadium, and it will mark the first time the Browns play in their new uniforms.

Days later, a national audience will view Pettine's first time coaching against his mentor, Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan. The Browns haven't played the Bills in the preseason since 2006, and Buffalo hasn't traveled to Cleveland for a preseason game since 1986.

The following week, the Browns will head south to Tampa Bay to play the Buccaneers in the preseason, marking the first time the teams have met in the preseason since 2001. The last time the Browns traveled to Tampa Bay during the preseason was in 1999.

The preseason will conclude on a familiar note in Chicago against the Bears. Cleveland has played Chicago in the preseason every season since 2004, marking the 12th straight time. The Browns are 19-11 all-time against the Bears in the preseason.

WEWS (NewsChannel  5) is the preseason television home of the Cleveland Browns. All preseason games will air on the PNC Bank Cleveland Browns Radio Network, including the team's flagship stations 92.3 The Fan, ESPN 850 WKNR and 98.5 WNCX.
