Joe Thomas is calling it a career after 11 seasons, 10 Pro Bowls and 10,363 consecutive snaps.
Thomas, the Browns veteran left tackle, announced his retirement Wednesday. Here is an incomplete sampling of how he was appropriately celebrated across the sports world on social media.

As we salute @joethomas73 on his magnificent career and wish him the best in future adventures, let’s remember criticism leveled b/c he went fishing w/his dad on draft day - Pro Bowl each of first 10 seasons - 10,363 consecutive snaps - fish away, Joe. https://t.co/FdmCPcPnv2

Not many offensive lineman retire and get pencilled into Canton 5 years from reitirment. @joethomas73 will walk into Canton on the first ballot. Not sure he’s been fully appreciated because he didn’t win in Cleveland

Had the honor of getting to know Joe Thomas. Many public figures are more image than substance. Joe is one of the few people I met who was thought of highly publicly and actually exceeded that image in person. A great player and a greater person

No player has made more Pro Bowls than Joe Thomas since he entered the NFL in 2007 (tied with Tom Brady and Larry Fitzgerald)
