As RB Quinshon Judkins took the handoff from QB Dillon Gabriel, he found a running lane created by the offensive line and slipped through. As he dodged one last Dolphins' defender, he sprinted down the field, outrunning the Dolphins as they tried to catch up him as he ran into the end zone for the 36-yard touchdown.
The touchdown was his first of three rushing touchdowns of the day. He scored his second touchdown of the day on a direct snap in wildcat formation, running the ball in for three yards. He completed the hat trick with his third touchdown early in the fourth quarter on a 2-yard run.
His three touchdowns made him the first Browns rookie to score three rushing touchdowns in a game since Travis Prentice on Oct. 8, 2000, as well as the first Browns player with three rushing touchdowns in a game since Nick Chubb on Sept. 18, 2022. He finished the game with 25 carries for 84 rushing yards.
Following his performance in against the Dolphins, Judkins was named one of the six nominees for the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week for Week 7.
"I think (Quinshon Judkins is) elite. You can see now, find a way to get Judkins the ball as much as possible," G Joel Bitonio said following the 31-6 win over the Dolphins. "He has the ability to be in between tackles, get on the edge, finish runs. He's tough, physical. He's big enough to handle 20 carries a game and he runs with good energy. I think anytime we get him the ball, he finds a way to fall forward."
On the season, Judkins has recorded four rushes of 30-plus yards, tied for the most by an NFL rookie after seven weeks since 2000.
He was nominated for the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week alongside Giants QB Jaxson Dart, Titans QB Cam Ward, Jaguars WR/DB Travis Hunter, Chargers TE Oronde Gadsden and Cowboys LB Shemar James.
