Biography
- Ian Kolste joined the Browns as an offensive quality control coach in 2026.
- Spent six years at the college level in various roles before spending the last two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens as a coaching fellow where he overlapped with head coach Todd Monken.
- Prior to joining the Ravens, Kolste returned to his alma mater, Whitworth University, as the offensive coordinator from 2022-23 helping lead the Pirates to a 16-5 overall record in his two seasons.
- In 2021, Kolste went to Southern Utah University where he was an offensive quality control assistant working with the quarterbacks in the spring before heading to Eastern Washington University in the fall as a defensive quality control assistant working with the linebackers.
- Kolste began his coaching career at Whitworth University as the wide receivers coach from 2018-19. During the 2020 Covid-19 season that took place in February and March of 2021, Kolste served as the interim offensive coordinator and went 4-0.
- A native of Oak Harbor, Wash., Kolste played quarterback at Whitworth University and ended his career as the all-time leader in passing yards (10,124), passing touchdowns (85), pass completions (1,424) and was the 2017 Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
