Biography
- John Wozniak joined the Browns as the assistant wide receivers coach in 2026. Brings over 25 years of coaching experience at the college level.
- Spent the 2025 season at Arizona State as an offensive analyst after spending the previous eight years as the running backs coach at Oklahoma State (2017-24).
- During his tenure with the Cowboys, he coached multiple All-Big 12 running backs including, Justice Hill, Chuba Hubbard, Ollie Gordon II and Jaylen Warren.
- In 2023, Gordon led the nation in rushing yards (1,732), yards from scrimmage (2,062), 100-yard games (nine), 150-yard games (5), 250-yard games (2) and went on to win the Doak Walker Award, which is awarded to the nation's top running back.
- In 2019, Hubbard led the nation in rushing yards, rushing yards per game, 200-yard rushing games, all-purpose yards per game and was the runner-up for the Doak Walker Award.
- Prior to Oklahoma State, Wozniak coached wide receivers and special teams at Southern Mississippi (2013-16) where he worked under head coach Todd Monken during the 2013 season. At Southern Miss, Wozniak coached NFL wide receivers Mike Thomas and Quez Watkins.
- At Southern Miss, Wozniak helped turnaround a program that went 0-12 and ranked 108th nationally in passing offense before his arrival to back-to-back bowl games in his last two seasons and a passing offense that ranked 12th nationally in 2015 and 16th in the nation in 2016.
- Wozniak made stops at Montana State (2008), Memphis (2009), West Georgia (2010) and University of Alabama at Birmingham (2011) before joining the staff at Alabama (2012) under Nick Saban where he helped Alabama to a national title as a special teams analyst.
- In 2004, Wozniak joined Les Miles' staff at Oklahoma State as a graduate assistant and followed him to Louisiana State before becoming the tight ends and special teams coach at Georgia Southern in 2006. In his one season with the Eagles, they led the Southern Conference and ranked 14th nationally in kickoff returns.
- Wozniak returned to Louisiana State in 2007 in an offensive quality control position, helping the Tigers rank 11th nationally in rushing offense en route to the national championship.
- Began his coaching career at his alma mater, Knox College, as the tight ends and punters coach in 1999 before becoming the offensive coordinator (2000-03).
- A native of Milwaukee, Wis., Wozniak earned his bachelor's degree in physics and secondary education from Knox College and his master's degree in sport management from LSU.
- He and his wife, Jessica, have one daughter, Audrey.
