Biography
- Matt Baker joined the Browns as the assistant quarterbacks coach in 2026.
- Before coming to Cleveland, Baker spent two seasons as an offensive assistant with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2024-25).
- Baker spent the 2023 season as the special teams assistant for the Atlanta Falcons.
- Prior to joining the Falcons, Baker spent three seasons at John Carroll University (2020-22) as the quarterbacks coach before adding offensive coordinator to his title in 2022. In 2022, the John Carroll offense averaged 38.0 points and 426.4 yards per game and finished second in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
- Baker began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Mississippi in 2010 before stepping away from coaching. In 2019, he returned to coaching and spent the 2019 season at Western Michigan University as a quality control coordinator coaching quarterbacks.
- As a player, Baker spent four years as a quarterback in the NFL, spending time with the Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills.
- Native of Rochester Hills, Mich., Baker played quarterback at the University of North Carolina (2002-05), where he graduated with a degree in economics.
