Biography
- Named the Browns quarterbacks coach in 2026. Brings more than 30 years of coaching experience.
- Last name is pronounced buh-JAKE-ee-an.
- Spent the past seven seasons as an offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach on the collegiate level with Massachusetts (2025), Utah (2024), Northwestern (2020-23) and Boston College (2019). Was a part of two bowl wins during his time at Northwestern (2023 Las Vegas Bowl and 2021 Citrus Bowl). In 2020, the Wildcats won the Big Ten West and finished the season ranked 10th in the final AP Top 25 poll. At Boston College, he helped the Eagles to the top rushing attack in the ACC.
- Served as the quarterbacks coach with Tampa Bay for four seasons (2015-18). Helped develop 2015 No. 1 overall pick Jameis Winston as he became the first quarterback in NFL history to pass for 4,000 yards in each of his first two seasons.
- Served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Tennessee from 2013-2014. In 2014, QB Joshua Dobbs set numerous school records, including rushing yards by a quarterback. Dobbs was selected in the fourth round of the NFL Draft.
- Spent three seasons (2010-12) at Cincinnati as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. The Bearcats won back-to-back conference championships and led the conference in scoring offense and total offense twice during that span. RB Isaiah Pead was named the 2011 Big EAST Conference Offensive Player of the Year and recorded consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and was a second round selection in the NFL Draft. In 2012, TE Travis Kelce set the UC single-season record for receptions (45), yards receiving (722) and touchdowns (8) by a tight end and was a third round pick in the NFL Draft.
- Served as the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Central Michigan from 2007-09. During that time, the Chippewas offense also posted its three highest-scoring offenses since joining the MAC in 1975. QB Dan LeFevour became the first player in NCAA FBS history to pass for 12,000 yards and rush for 2,500 yards in a career and set an NCAA FBS-record with 150 touchdowns (102 passing, 47 rushing, 1 receiving). LeFevour was selected in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. WR Antonio Brown set numerous CMU records, including single-season and career receptions and was a sixth round pick in the NFL.
- Spent the 2004-2006 seasons as the offensive quality control coach for the Bears, where he worked with the Bears wide receivers. He was part of a coaching staff that led the Bears to Super Bowl XLI and back-to-back NFC North Division championships.
- A native of River Vale, New Jersey, Bajakian was an all-conference honoree as a quarterback at Williams College.
