Biography

  • Joined the Browns in 2020 as a defensive assistant. Added assistant linebackers coach responsibilities in 2026.
  • During six seasons with the Browns, DE Myles Garrett was named to the Pro Bowl and AP All-Pro team all six seasons, earning first team honors five times and second team honors in 2022. Garrett was also named the 2023 and 2025 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. He set the NFL single-season sack record with 23 in 2025. CB Denzel Ward was selected to the Pro Bowl four times, while LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah was named to the Pro Bowl in 2023.
  • In 2025, Dunn aided with the linebackers, where second-round pick Carson Schwesinger was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. Schwesinger led the Browns and all NFL rookies with 146 tackles, while also leading all rookies with 11 tackles for a loss.
  • In 2024, the Browns were the only NFL team to not allow a 300-yard passer. Ward led the NFL with a career-high 19 passes defensed, while Garrett led the NFL with 22 tackles-for-loss and finished second in the league with 14 sacks.
  • In 2023, the Browns defense led the NFL in several categories including total defense (270.2 yards per game), passing defense (164.7 yards per game), third down percentage (67-of-230 for 29.1 percent) and first downs allowed (253). The team's 270.2 net yards allowed per game were the fewest allowed in the NFL since the 2014 Seahawks (267.1) and the fewest allowed by a Browns team since 1957. Cleveland also led the league by forcing 112 punts, the third-most forced by an NFL team since 1970.
  • Helped the Browns finish the 2021 season fifth in the NFL in total defense, marking the club's highest finish since 1987.
  • In 2020, helped the defense rank among the league leaders in takeaways, including leading the league in red zone takeaways. Helped Ward finish tied for second in the NFL with 18 passes defensed, despite only playing in 12 games.
  • Spent the 2016 season as a student assistant coach at his alma mater, Bowling Green State University.
  • Gained experience as a content coordinator for USA football, spending two years in the department prior to circling back to coaching in 2020. 
  • Graduated from Bowling Green State University with a concentration in business administration and management.
  • Married to Cassidy and is a native of Germantown, Ohio.
