On July 17, 2025 Ohio made history and became the 17th state to officially make Girls Flag Football a sanctioned sport under the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA). The Cleveland Browns have been dedicated to paving the way for this new era where women and girls are empowered to take over the football world, and the momentum only continues to increase ahead of the 2028 Olympics where flag football will be a part of the games. The Cleveland Browns have partnered with the Berea-Midpark Girls High School Flag Football team to showcase the passion and excitement surrounding the sport. With 51 teams joining in 2024 and over new 18 high schools committed to the Spring 2025 season, the momentum for Girls Flag Football in Ohio continues to grow. The Browns are dedicated to creating a pathway for Girls High School Flag Football to become a sanctioned varsity sport under the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA). There are 13 other states with the sport already sanctioned at the high school level ahead of the 2028 Olympics where the sport will be part of the games and the Browns are dedicated to making Ohio the 14th.
