2018 ClevelandBrowns.com Mock Draft 3.0

The guessing is almost over.

Almost.

We've already taken two swings at the plate with our Browns projections at No. 1, 4, 33 and 35. Consider this our third and final crack at predicting what John Dorsey does in his first draft with the Browns.

Nathan Zegura

1. BROWNS – QB Sam Darnold (USC) All along I have believed it would come down to Darnold or Baker Mayfield for the Browns. I do think Mayfield was given incredibly strong consideration, but the total package presented by Darnold was just too promising for the Browns to pass.

  1. Giants – RB Saquon Barkley (Penn State)
  1. Jets – QB Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma)

4. BROWNS – DE Bradley Chubb (NC State) – The Browns come out of this draft with their top-ranked QB and their top-ranked overall player in Chubb. Chubb, Myles Garrett and Emmanuel Ogbah will be a pass rushing dream for defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.

  1. Bills (projected trade with Broncos) – QB Josh Allen (Wyoming)
  1. Colts – OG Quenton Nelson (Notre Dame)
  1. Patriots (projected trade with Buccaneers) – QB Josh Rosen (UCLA)
  1. Bears – CB Denzel Ward (Ohio State)
  1. 49ers – LB Roquan Smith (Georgia)
  1. Raiders – DB Minkah Fitzpatrick (Alabama)
  1. Dolphins – DT Vita Vea (Washington)
  1. Broncos (projected trade with Bills) – DE Harold Landry (Boston College)
  1. Redskins – S Derwin James (Florida State)
  1. Packers – CB Josh Jackson (Iowa)
  1. Cardinals – QB Lamar Jackson (Louisville)
  1. Ravens – OT Mike McGlinchey (Notre Dame)
  1. Chargers – DT Da'Ron Payne (Alabama)
  1. Seahawks – DE Marcus Davenport (Texas-San Antonio)
  1. Cowboys – WR Courtland Sutton (SMU)
  1. Lions – DT Taven Bryan (Florida)
  1. Bengals – G Will Hernandez (UTEP)
  1. Broncos (projected trade with Bills) – QB Mason Rudolph (Oklahoma State)
  1. Buccaneers (projected trade with Patriots) – RB Derrius Guice (LSU)
  1. Panthers – CB Jaire Alexander (Louisville)
  1. Titans – LB Rashaan Evans (Alabama)
  1. Falcons – OG Isaiah Wynn (Georgia)
  1. Saints – TE Dallas Goedert (South Dakota State)
  1. Steelers – LB Leighton Vander-Esch (Boise State)
  1. Jaguars – TE Hayden Hurst (South Carolina)
  1. Vikings – OT Kolton Miller (UCLA)
  1. Buccaneers (projected trade with Patriots) – CB Mike Hughes (UCF)
  1. Eagles – RB Sony Michel (Georgia)

33. BROWNS – WR D.J. Moore (Maryland) – After addressing the secondary heavily in the offseason, the Browns turn to playmakers with their next two picks. Moore reminds many of a bigger, more explosive version of former Terrapin WR Stefon Diggs and would give the Browns yet another weapon in the passing game.

  1. Giants - OT Connor Williams (Texas)

35. BROWNS – CB Isaiah Oliver (Colorado) – The Browns cement their defense by adding a versatile corner in Oliver who excels in press man, which is exactly what Williams wants. With these two picks, I also think RB is a possibility, and don't be surprised if the Browns pull the trigger on DT Maurice Hurst should he fall out of the first round because of medical concerns.

Andrew Gribble

1. BROWNS - QB Sam Darnold (USC) - Why change now? Every external report has found a way to contradict each other, so there's no sense in diverting from the original pick. Dorsey will keep everyone guessing until the pick is announced.

  1. Giants - QB Josh Allen (Wyoming)
  1. Jets - QB Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma)

4. BROWNS - DE Bradley Chubb (NC State) - Cleveland gets the best quarterback and best non-quarterback in the draft. Not bad.

  1. Bills (projected trade with Broncos) - QB Josh Rosen (UCLA)
  1. Colts - RB Saquon Barkley (Penn State)
  1. Buccaneers - DB Minkah Fitzpatrick (Alabama)
  1. Bears - OL Quenton Nelson (Notre Dame)
  1. 49ers - LB Roquan Smith (Georgia)
  1. Raiders - CB Denzel Ward (Ohio State)
  1. Dolphins - LB Tremaine Edmunds (Virginia Tech)
  1. Broncos (projected trade with Bills) - OT Mike McGlinchey (Notre Dame)
  1. Redskins - DT Vita Vea (Washington)
  1. Packers - S Derwin James (Florida State)
  1. Cardinals - QB Lamar Jackson (Louisville)
  1. Patriots (projected trade with Ravens) - QB Mason Rudolph (Oklahoma State)
  1. Chargers - DL Da'Ron Payne (Alabama)
  1. Seahawks - DE Harold Landry (Boston College)
  1. Cowboys - WR Courtland Sutton (SMU)
  1. Lions - DE Marcus Davenport (Texas-San Antonio)
  1. Bengals - LB Rashaan Evans (Alabama)
  1. Bills - CB Jaire Alexander (Louisville)
  1. Ravens (projected trade with Patriots) - TE Hayden Hurst (South Carolina)
  1. Panthers - CB Mike Hughes (UCF)
  1. Titans - DE Sam Hubbard (Ohio State)
  1. Falcons - DT Taven Bryan (Florida)

27. BROWNS (projected trade with Saints) - OT Kolton Miller (UCLA) - The Browns use their bounty of assets to secure a third first-round pick for a second straight year. Miller has tons of upside and gives the Browns multiple options at left tackle in 2018 and beyond.

  1. Steelers - LB Leighton Vander Esch (Boise State)
  1. Jaguars - WR D.J. Moore (Maryland)
  1. Vikings - OG Will Hernandez (UTEP)
  1. Patriots - CB Josh Jackson (Iowa)
  1. Bills (projected trade with Eagles) - WR Calvin Ridley (Alabama)

33. BROWNS - CB Isaiah Oliver (Colorado) - The Browns add more depth to the secondary with a valuable pick they didn't need to part with in the projected trade with the Saints.

  1. Giants - OG Isaiah Wynn (Georgia)
  1. Saints (projected trade with Browns) - TE Dallas Goedert (South Dakota State)

Patrick Maks

1. BROWNS - QB Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma) - Mayfield is a proven winner who consistently throws the ball on time and on target. Dorsey and Co. will have to weigh those dynamics against Mayfield's less-than-ideal height (6-foot) and swagger that could rub some people the wrong way.

  1. Giants - RB Saquon Barkley (Penn State)
  1. Jets - QB Sam Darnold (USC)

4. BROWNS - CB Denzel Ward (Ohio State) - Ward has the potential to be one of the league's elite cornerbacks.

  1. Broncos - DE Bradley Chubb (N.C. State)
  1. Bills (projected trade with Colts) - QB Josh Rosen (UCLA)
  1. Buccaneers - DB Minkah Fitzpatrick (Alabama)
  1. Bears - OL Quenton Nelson (Notre Dame)
  1. 49ers - LB Tremaine Edmunds (Virginia Tech)
  1. Raiders - LB Roquan Smith (Georgia)
  1. Dolphins - S Derwin James (Florida State)
  1. Colts (projected trade with Bills) - LB Rashaan Evans (Alabama)
  1. Redskins - DT Vita Vea (Washington)
  1. Packers - DE Marcus Davenport (Texas-San Antonio)
  1. Cardinals - QB Josh Allen (Wyoming)
  1. Ravens - DT Da'Ron Payne (Alabama)
  1. Chargers - OT Mike McGlinchey (Notre Dame)
  1. Seahawks - CB Josh Jackson (Iowa)
  1. Cowboys - WR Calvin Ridley (Alabama)
  1. Panthers - CB Jaire Alexander (Louisville)
  1. Bengals - OL Isaiah Wynn (Georgia)
  1. Bills - OG Will Hernandez (UTEP)
  1. Patriots - QB Lamar Jackson (Louisville)
  1. Lions - DE Sam Hubbard (Ohio State)
  1. Titans - DT Taven Bryan (Florida)
  1. Falcons - WR Christian Kirk (Texas A&M)
  1. Saints - TE Mike Gesicki (Penn State)
  1. Steelers - DE Harold Landry (Boston College)
  1. Jaguars - WR Courtland Sutton (SMU)
  1. Vikings - OL Billy Price (Ohio State)
  1. Patriots - CB Mike Hughes (Central Florida)
  1. Eagles - RB Derrius Guice (LSU)

33. BROWNS - DL Maurice Hurst (Michigan) - Hurst could fall because of a heart condition that was flagged at the combine. Provided everything checks out health-wise, the Browns can add another piece to what's already a promising defensive line.

  1. Giants - OT Connor Williams (Texas)

35. BROWNS - RB Sony Michel (Georgia) - The slippery Georgia running back joins a room that already includes Duke Johnson Jr., and Carlos Hyde.
