The Cleveland Browns on Tuesday were awarded defensive lineman Tory Slater via waivers from Seattle and waived linebacker Rodman Noel. General Manager Ray Farmer made the announcement.
A 6-5, 290-pound defensive lineman, Slater joins the Browns after spending the past month with the Seahawks, who signed him as an undrafted free agent this offseason. During his final season at West Georgia, he played in all 15 games with 10 sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss to help the Wolves notch a 12-3 record and reach the Division II NCAA Semifinals.
After participating in the Browns' rookie minicamp on May 8-10 on a tryout basis, Noel signed with the Browns on May 11 as an undrafted free agent from North Carolina State.
