Browns C Cameron Erving released from hospital, 'week to week' with pulmonary contusion

Browns center Cameron Erving, who suffered a pulmonary contusion during the second half of Sunday's loss to Baltimore, was released from the hospital Monday and his return to play status will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis.

Erving missed the final four snaps of Sunday's 25-20 loss to the Ravens. John Greco filled in for Erving while veteran Alvin Bailey replaced Greco at right guard.

Greco, who is in his ninth NFL season, last started a game at center in 2014.

"Credit him for sticking in there as long as he can. I know that we're going to have to kind of scrape him off of the field for him to come out," Greco said Sunday. "Guys go down, next man up. I thought we were able to give ourselves a chance at the end, but we just have to make the plays."
