Browns DL Myles Garrett a finalist for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week

Myles Garrett's debut made national headlines, and now the Browns rookie is up for a league-wide award.

The No. 1 pick is one of five finalists for the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week award after collecting two sacks Sunday against the Jets. He's going up against Houston QB Deshaun Watson (261 yards, five TDs), Jacksonville RB Leonard Fournette (181 yards, 2 TDs), Green Bay RB Aaron Jones (125 yards, TD) and Los Angeles Rams DB Josh Johnson (Two PBUs, INT).

Garrett, who missed the first four weeks because of a high ankle sprain, sacked Jets quarterback Josh McCown on his first snap and brought him down again later in the first half. Garrett played just 19 snaps but is expected to see his workload increase in the coming weeks.

"It was great to have him out there," Browns coach Hue Jackson said. "What a tremendous play on the first play and the other sack he made. He gave us some juice and gave us a lift. He was a part of the defense that I thought played well. We have to continue to get him to that next level where he can play longer."
