Browns interview Carolina defensive coordinator Sean McDermott

The Cleveland Browns on Sunday interviewed Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott for the team's head coach opening.

McDermot joins New England defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, Dallas secondary coach Jerome Henderson, Jacksonville assistant head coach/offensive line coach Doug Marrone, Detroit defensive coordinator Teryl Austin and Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase as candidates who have interviewed.

McDermott met with the Browns' five-person search committee, which includes owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam, executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown, chief strategy officer Paul DePodesta and Korn/Ferry International consultant Jed Hughes.
