Browns sign Larry Grant

BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns on Wednesday signed LB Larry Grant. General Manager Ray Farmer made the announcement.

Grant participated in the Browns' rookie minicamp this past weekend on a tryout basis.

Grant is 6-1, 251 pounds and officially entering his fifth NFL season out of Ohio State. Originally a seventh-round pick by San Francisco in 2008, Grant has appeared in 68 NFL games with the 49ers, Rams and Bears. He has totaled 64 tackles, five sacks, five pass breakups, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Last season, he appeared in two games with Chicago.

He attended City College of San Francisco before finishing his collegiate career at Ohio State. In 2005, Grant was named JUCO National Player of the Year. He played in four straight national championship games (two at City College and two at Ohio State). A native of San Francisco, Calif., he graduated from Norcross High School.
