Browns sign Ray Drew and Ty Zimmerman to the practice squad

BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns on Tuesday signed DL Ray Drew and DB Ty Zimmerman to the practice squad. To make room on the roster, the team released DL Dylan Wynn and OL Garth Gerhart from the practice squad.

Drew is a 6-4, 282-pound rookie out of Georgia, where he totaled 113 career tackles, 13 tackles for loss and seven sacks in 46 games. A native of Thomasville, Ga., Drew was originally signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2015 and was released at the end of training camp. Drew attended Thomas County Central High School in Thomasville, Ga.

Zimmerman, listed at 6-0, 213 pounds, played in 50 career games at Oregon State, totaling 266 tackles and three interceptions. Zimmerman originally signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2015 and was released at the end of training camp. A native of St. Matthews, S.C., Zimmerman attended Lawton High School in Lawton, Okla.
