BEREA, Ohio --* The Cleveland Browns on Tuesday signed OL Vinston Painter to the active roster off Denver's practice squad. General Manager Ray Farmer made the announcement.
 
In addition the club waived/failed physical OL Caylin Hauptmann.
 
Painter is 6-4, 310 pounds and officially in his first NFL season out of Virginia Tech. Originally drafted by Denver in the sixth round in 2013, Painter spent most of his rookie season on the Broncos practice squad. He elevated to the active roster for the final two postseason games and was inactive. He appeared as a reserve in all four of the Broncos preseason games this year. Painter saw action in 32 games with 13 starts at Virginia Tech. A native of Norfolk, Va., Painter graduated from Maury High School.
