Cleveland Browns sign TE Manasseh Garner, DB Joe Rankin

The Cleveland Browns on Sunday signed tight end Manasseh (pronounced muh-NESS-uh) Garner and defensive back Joe Rankin. General Manager Ray Farmer made the announcement.

In addition, the club waived linebacker Darius Eubanks and tight end Kevin Haplea.

Garner is a 6-2, 239-pound rookie out of Pittsburgh. He was originally signed by the Chiefs as undrafted free agent in May. In 43 career games at Pitt, Garner recorded 52 receptions for 637 yards with five touchdowns. A native of Pittsburgh, he graduated from Brashear High School.

Rankin is a 5-9, 188-pound rookie out of Morgan State. He previously participated in the Ravens' rookie camp on a tryout basis in 2014. Rankin recorded 13 career interceptions at Morgan State. A native of Germantown, Md., he graduated from Seneca Valley High School.

Eubanks appeared in nine games with the Browns in 2013 and missed all of last season with a shoulder injury. Haplea was signed by the club in May after participating in team's rookie camp on a tryout basis.

The Browns roster is currently at the maximum of 90 players.
