Joe Thomas' Film Room

Joe Thomas' Film Room, Episode 8: Why Terrell Suggs has been a thorn in Browns' side for more than a decade

It's hard to find a pass rusher Joe Thomas faced more than Terrell Suggs.

When Thomas began his career in 2007, Suggs was hitting his prime in his fifth season with the Ravens. When Thomas recorded his 10,000th consecutive snap, Suggs was on the other side of the line of scrimmage. When Thomas called it a career in March 2018, Suggs was just a few days away from reporting for another round of offseason workouts.

Twice a year, Thomas could count on a matchup with a player he'd seen on film for hours and hours and hours.

"This is the game where you don't even need to watch film," Thomas said. "You know everything there is to know about him. You know him better than he knows himself because you're watching him on film so much."

The good news for the Browns? Suggs is no longer on the Ravens. The bad news? They'll still see him in 2019, as Suggs goes through his 17th NFL season with the Arizona Cardinals.

This week's edition of "Joe Thomas' Film Room" explores all of the ways Suggs has thrived throughout the years. Up until 2019, he was the one constant you could count on with Baltimore's vaunted defense.

Give it a watch or listen. Episode 9 will air next Tuesday.
