Sixteen days separate the Browns from their first of two, top-five selections in the 2018 NFL Draft.
From now until then, roughly 5,000 more mock drafts will be published. We did our best today to analyze the most recent and prominent ones in an attempt to figure out whether or not a consensus has emerged.
See for yourself.
- RB Saquon Barkley (Penn State)
- DL Bradley Chubb (NC State)
- QB Lamar Jackson (Louisville)
Of note: The former NFL running back goes outside the box with his predictions, tabbing the Browns to take "the best player in the draft" at No. 1 and swinging a trade with the Eagles to land the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner at No. 32.
- QB Sam Darnold (USC)
- Chubb
- RB Sony Michel (Georgia)
Of note: Casserly goes with a more traditional prediction at the top but similarly predicts the Browns to trade back into the first round. Taking Michel at 32 would give the Browns the ability to retain him for five years.
- QB Josh Allen (Wyoming)
- Barkley
- OT Connor Williams (Texas)
Of note: Reuter thinks it'd take a fourth-round pick for Cleveland to move back into the first round to take a potential Joe Thomas replacement.
- Allen
- Barkley
Of note: Kiper pegs Barkley to be the first non-quarterback off the board and the only one in the top five.
- Darnold
- Barkley
Of note: In this mock, McShay does not make any trades and follows with the Browns taking LSU CB Donte Jackson, Stanford S Justin Reid and Pittsburgh OT Brian O'Neill in the second round.
- Darnold
- Chubb
Of note: Easterling believes the depth of this year's running back class will play a part in the Browns taking the top defensive player. He later projects Barkley to go No. 6 to the Colts.
- Allen
- Barkley
Of note: Following the Allen pick, Prisco anticipates the Bills making a big move to trade up to No. 2 and snag UCLA QB Josh Rosen.
- Darnold
- Chubb
Of note: Brugler believes the Browns could be in business at No. 4, but would exit the draft with one of the league's most daunting pass rush tandems if they hold onto the pick.
- Allen
- Chubb
Of note: Rang believes taking Allen at No. 1 would be viewed by some as a gamble but sees him as the best fit for a Hue Jackson offense.
- Allen
- Barkley
Of note: Cherepinsky believes the decision will come down to Allen or Darnold at No. 1, and it's going to be very close.
