BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns safety T.J. Ward has been selected to his first career Pro Bowl, the National Football League announced today. Ward, named an alternate on Dec. 27, replaces Pittsburgh's Troy Polamalu, who is unable to participate due to injury.
The Browns' six All-Star honorees mark the team's most since six players reached the 2008 Pro Bowl. Ward will join tight end Jordan Cameron, wide receiver Josh Gordon, cornerback Joe Haden, center Alex Mack and tackleJoe Thomas in representing Cleveland during the 2014 Pro Bowl at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu on Jan. 26.
Ward registered a career-high 129 tackles and tied a career-high with two interceptions. The 2010 second-round selection added nine passes defensed, 1.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and two defensive scores. He scored on a 44-yard interception return vs. Buffalo on Oct. 3, and added a 51-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown vs. Chicago on Dec. 15.
