There were extra tricks and treats at Huntington Bank Field as Barking Backers, the Browns official fan club for dogs, presented by Milk-Bone and in association with Embrace Pet Insurance and Pet Supplies Plus, hosted its Howl-O-Ween event on Oct. 25.
The Dawg Pound was turned into a Halloween festival for more than 1,000 dogs and their human counterparts, showcasing their best costumes for the fourth year of the Barking Backers Halloween event. The costumes ranged from a dragon to a dog dressed as a pickle as they went around different stations offering goodies for the furry trick-or-treaters.
Milk-Bone provided treats and Pet Supplies Plus offered pumpkin pup cups for the pups, while Pet Supplies Plus also had a 'Stuff your own Halloween bag' station. ForeverLawn provided refreshments for the dogs, giving the dogs a bone broth "witches potion." Tito's Handmade Vodka offered attendees a signature cocktail and a photo opportunity to remember the day. At the Browns Pop-up Pro Shop presented by Fanatics, attendees could get their dogs a free treat ball with any $50+ purchase.
The event raised $620 for Fido's Companion Rescue, a rescue shelter in Avon, Ohio. The Browns hosted a "dawghouse sale" for attendees to make a monetary cash donation and select an item to take home.
Attendees were also encouraged to donate a paper towel roll, and through their generous efforts, collected 351 paper towel rolls to Parma Animal Shelter for a chance to win a Denzel Ward autographed Alpha Dawg helmet.
Howl-O-Ween was a free event for all members of Barking Backers who registered for a one-hour time slot. The next Barking Backers event, Jingle Paws, will take place on Dec. 10 at Huntington Bank Field. Premium members will have the opportunity to fetch tickets first.
