On Aug. 6, the Browns' fifth open practice of training camp represented more than just football.
With fans in attendance, the Browns hosted a Stay in the Game! (SITG!) themed training camp day, where the team hosted 150 students and educators from Northeast Ohio school districts. Fans had the opportunity to donate school supplies and received a SITG! branded gate giveaway upon entrance to practice while 75 SITG! partners were hosted for a VIP networking experience in the Sideline Club.
Fans have had the opportunity to engage with SITG! every day of open practice sessions at the SITG! activity station. Kids added their names to a board indicating what makes them most excited to return to school in the fall, with every participant receiving a prize for doing so.
Students from Olmsted Falls City Schools also participated in "Bring the Dawgs Out," where they lined up to high-five the players as they walked out to the practice fields ahead of training.
"Each year, the Cleveland Browns generously invite Stay in the Game partners to attend Training Camp as VIP guests," Assistant Director of Student Services, Enrollment and Engagement at Euclid City Schools Jerimie L. Acree said. "As both a Browns fan and a Stay in the Game! partner, this experience gives me the chance to enjoy an unforgettable fan experience while reconnecting with fellow partners from across the network. It's truly a win-win for everyone involved."
The Stay in the Game! Attendance Network helps students succeed by partnering with school districts in an effort to improve school attendance and decrease chronic absenteeism. Stay in the Game! is a statewide movement launched in 2019 by the Cleveland Browns Foundation, Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and Harvard's Proving Ground and is now managed by Battelle.
Heading into the 2026-27 school year, the Network will partner with 177 districts, with 108 of those districts within the Browns' region. The Network now impacts more than 575,000 students, with the Browns' districts making up over half of that figure.
"Being part of the Stay in the Game Network is a no-brainer," Acree said. "The campaign helps raise awareness throughout our district and community about the importance of regular school attendance, while also providing valuable opportunities to collaborate with other districts facing similar attendance challenges. That combination of advocacy and shared learning is truly invaluable."
Along with the themed Training Camp day, the Browns are welcoming a new SITG! pillar partner, Eaton.
The partnership between Eaton and the Browns amplifies the positive impact both organizations make across their shared communities, while showing fans and customers how Eaton helps make what matters work. With its North American headquarters in Northeast Ohio, this collaboration is an opportunity to support the community through the Stay in the Game! Attendance Network and connect with Browns fans and Eaton customers on a local and regional level. Centered around the theme "From the Grid to the Gridiron," the partnership also highlights how Eaton powers gameday and helps support the Browns.
Eaton will join Huntington Bank and University Hospitals as the program's pillar partners. As a new partner of the Browns, Eaton is an active community partner focused on creating pathways into STEAM through hands-on learning experiences. Engagement in the classroom is a key driver of student attendance, and by creating STEAM opportunities for students, there is clear alignment between Eaton and SITG!'s community promises.
