Browns sign 3rd-round pick Xavier Cooper, 6th-rounder Malcolm Johnson

The Browns on Tuesday signed third-round draft pick defensive lineman Xavier Cooper and sixth-round pick fullback Malcolm Johnson. General manager Ray Farmer made the announcement.

A total of five of the Browns' 12 draft picks have signed contracts. Cooper and Johnson join tight end Randall Telfer, linebacker Nate Orchard and defensive back Charles Gaines.

Xavier Cooper – DL | 6-4, 300 | Washington State

3rd round (No. 96 overall)

Started 34 of 36 career games at Washington State…Recorded 121 career tackles, 31.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries… Totaled 37 tackles including team-high 9.5 tackles-for-loss and finished second on team with five sacks in 2014…Attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Tacoma, Washington.

Malcolm Johnson – FB | 6-1, 231 | Mississippi State

6th round (No. 195 overall)

Played in 45 games at Mississippi State…Totaled 79 career receptions for 1,148 yards and 10 TDs…Voted team captain as a senior…Named to the All-SEC freshman team in 2011 and All-SEC second team in 2013…Attended Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
