How Ohio natives fared at NFL Combine, project in draft

There have been better years when it pertains to the number of Ohio State prospects in the draft, but there's once again no shortage of Ohio-based players projected to land with NFL teams two months from now.

Of the 322 players to attend the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine, 11 hailed from the Buckeye State and didn't play for the Buckeyes. Here's a sampling of how they not only performed in Indianapolis, but where they project in the 2015 NFL Draft.

RB Dominique Brown - Louisville (Cincinnati)

Height/weight: 6-2, 234

Workout rundown: Benched 225 pounds 17 times, a total that did not rank in the top 15 among running backs. Did not participate in any other timed workouts.

Projection: Scouts Inc. ranks Brown 18th among running backs. CBSSports.com places him 15th and projects him to land in the fifth round.

DE Frank Clark - Michigan (Cleveland)

Height/Weight: 6-3, 271

Workout rundown: Was considered a top performer in the vertical leap (38.5 inches), three-cone drill (7.08 seconds), 20-yard shuttle (4.05 seconds) and 60-yard shuttle (11.22 seconds).

Projection: Clark, who was dismissed from Michigan after a domestic violence incident in November, is considered the 39th-best defensive end by Scouts Inc. and is projected to go in the seventh round or undrafted by CBSSports.com.

LB Trey DePriest - Alabama (Springfield)

Height/weight: 6-0, 254

Workout rundown: DePriest did not work out in Indianapolis because of a lingering knee injury.

Projection: Scouts Inc. ranks DePriest as the 10th-best inside linebacker. CBSSports.com projects him to the sixth or seventh round.

OL Andrew Donnal - Iowa (Monclova)

Height/weight: 6-6, 313

Workout rundown: Participated in most events. Had the fifth-best vertical leap among offensive linemen and ran the 40-yard dash in 5.31 seconds.

Projection: Ranked 28th among offensive tackles by Scouts Inc. Projected as a seventh-round/undrafted free agent by CBSSports.com.

S Kurtis Drummond - Michigan State (Masury)

Height/weight: 6-1, 208

Workout rundown: Led all safeties with a 39.5-inch vertical leap. Ran the 40 in 4.65 seconds.

Projection: Scouts Inc. ranks him as the 18th-best safety. CBSSports.com lists him as the sixth-best free safety and gives him a fourth/fifth-round grade.

RB Braylon Heard - Kentucky (Youngstown)

Height/weight: 5-10, 198

Workout rundown: Participated in every event but did not rank in the top 15 of any at his position. The scat back ran a 4.63-second 40-yard dash.

Projection: Listed as the 26th-best running back by Scouts Inc. and 35th by CBSSports.com, the latter of which does not expect him to be drafted.

LB Jordan Hicks - Texas (Cincinnati)

Height/weight: 6-1, 236

Workout rundown: Was a top performer among linebackers at vertical leap (38 inches), three-cone drill (6.78 seconds) and 60-yard shuttle (11.34 seconds). Ran the 40 in 4.68 seconds.

Projection: Ranked eighth among inside linebackers by Scouts Inc. and 14th among outside linebackers by CBSSports.com. He's projected as a Day 3 pick.

DB Troy Hill - Oregon (Youngstown)

Height/weight: 5-10, 182

Workout rundown: Participated in all events but did not rank among top 15 cornerbacks in any of them. Ran the 40 in 4.55 seconds.

Projection: Ranked 19th among cornerbacks by Scouts Inc. and 34th by CBSSports.com. He's projected to be a seventh-round pick or an undrafted free agent.

OL Greg Mancz - Toledo (Cincinnati)

Height/weight: 6-4, 301

Workout rundown: Did not participate in any performance drills because of a shoulder injury.

Projection: Scouts Inc. ranks him as the 24th-best offensive guard while CBSSports.com places him as the seventh-best center. The latter projects him to be a seventh rounder or undrafted free agent.

CB Quinten Rollins - Miami Ohio (Wilmington)

Height/weight: 5-11, 195

Workout rundown: The former basketball player participated in all events but did not rank in the top 15 among cornerbacks in any of them.

Projection: Scouts Inc. ranks him as the ninth-best cornerback while CBSSports.com lists him as fourth. Has been pegged as a late first-rounder in numerous mock drafts.

LB Jake Ryan - Michigan (Westlake)

Height/weight: 6-2, 240

Workout rundown: Participated in all events and was fifth among the linebackers in the 60-yard shuttle (11.65 seconds).

Projection: Played his senior season as an inside linebacker but is projected as the No. 8 outside linebacker by Scouts Inc. Ranked 14th among OLBs by CBSSports.com and is slotted as a fifth-round pick.
