Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (1-0) is led by second year head coach Ben Malbasa. Malbasa stays in the division, coming from Benedictine High School and Elyria Catholic.

Week one couldn't have opened more differently for the two teams as they face off this Friday. As Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin came out of the gates flying, jumping out to a 23-0 lead in the first quarter and going on to beat Willoughby South 44-17 in the 2014 season opener, Chagrin Falls did not open the season as planned. The Tigers had a tough start, falling to the Madison 36-0, in a game where the team struggled offensively.

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Quarterback T.J. McKiernan's senior debut was impressive as he threw for 275 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with one of his favorite targets in senior wide receiver Aaron Hammer. They were strong on the ground as well. The NDCL backfield combined for 134 yards rushing, with Sophomore Running Back Harrison Richardson rushing for two touchdowns.

Chagrin Falls did not see the same success offensively, as they struggled to establish any rhythm on offense in week one against Madison. The offense was held to just 88 yards of total offense, giving up five sacks. Chagrin Falls was dominated by the Blue Streaks defense and hopes to bounce back this week when they travel to Lion Stadium.

Will we see NDCL light up a defensive unit that struggled week one, or is there cause for concern for Chagrin Falls and their hope for a seventh consecutive playoff appearance?

Good luck to both teams and stay tuned for a post-game report.
