The Browns defeated the Patriots, 37-13, on Thursday night at Huntington Bank Field in their final preseason game.
QB Dillon Gabriel started the game for the Browns and played the first half, finishing 12-for-15 with 186 yards and three touchdowns. QB Taylen Green played the second half, ending with 27 passing yards and 66 rushing yards. WR Luke Floriea added three receptions for 29 yards and two touchdowns.

Browns and Patriots trade touchdowns to start the game
On the first play of the drive, Gabriel found WR Gage Larvadain on a 12-yard pass. A few plays later, the Browns converted on third-and-9 and moved the ball into Patriots' territory courtesy of a defensive pass interference. Floriea capped the drive off with a 6-yard touchdown reception on a short catch by the right sideline.
New England tied the game up on their opening possession, with a 6 play, 76-yard drive. QB Tommy DeVito found WR Kyle Williams for a 10-yard reception on the Patriots' third play from scrimmage. Three plays later, DeVito connected with Williams deep down the left sideline for a 45-yard touchdown.
Cleveland finds the end zone two more times in first half
Gabriel fired a pass to Larvadain over the middle of the field for 21 yards to jumpstart the Browns' second drive of the game. A few plays later, Gabriel connected with WR Ben Patterson for a 19-yard pitch and catch to move the ball to the Patriots' 18-yard line. Floriea found the end zone for the second time with a 14-yard reception to finish off the drive.
A little more than halfway through the second quarter, Gabriel located WR Kole Wilson for a 29-yard gain into Patriots territory on the Browns' fourth drive. A few plays later, Gabriel found RB Ahmani Marshall in the flat on the left side for a 7-yard touchdown to extend the Browns' first half lead.
Browns strike early in the fourth quarter
The Browns marched 98 yards on 15 plays for their fourth touchdown of the game. On the second play of the possession, Green scrambled from out of his own end zone for a 30-yard gain. RB Davon Booth capped off the drive 12 plays later, spinning off a defender for an 8-yard touchdown run.
Cleveland holds New England scoreless in second half
The Browns' defense made key plays to prevent the Patriots from reaching the end zone in the second half. On New England's first drive of the second half, DT Coziah Izzard sacked QB Behren Morton to force a second-and-20 and later a punt. LB Justin Jefferson sacked Morton on third-and-6 to force another punt on the Patriots' ensuing possession. Cleveland forced New England's third consecutive punt when CB Tyler Hall broke up a pass attempt from Morton on third-and-5. Jefferson made another play, intercepting Morton on the Patriots' fourth drive of the half.
