Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield has been named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week following a brilliant debut.Â
The rookie signal-caller passed for 201 yards on 17-of-23 throws in last week's comeback win over the Jets, the team's first victory since 2016. Mayfield is set to make his first career start against the Raiders on Sunday in Oakland.Â
Mayfield, who joins cornerback and Week 1 winner Denzel Ward, beat out Falcons receiver Calvin Ridley, Giants running back Saquon Barkley, Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Panthers defensive back Donte Jackson.
He's the second Browns player to win the award this season, joining fellow first-round pick Denzel Ward, who took it home after intercepting two passes Week 1 against the Steelers.
