Hats Off To Our Heroes: Donald Bloom
This week's hero is Don Bloom, the head custodian at Akron Public Schools. When the pandemic began, Don not only took on the sole responsibility of cleaning the school to make it safe for students and staff, he also volunteered to pass out breakfast and lunch to kids in the neighborhood that needed help when the school was shut down.
Rashard Higgins Visits Virtually with Maple Heights Students
Wide receiver Rashard Higgins hosted a Q&A session with Maple Heights students hosted by Nathan Zegura. Higgins discussed with the students the importance of education and making good decisions.
Hats Off To Our Heroes: Holly Miller
This week's hero is Holly Miller, the Director of Nursing at Crawford Manor, who gave up her wedding day to care for her patients. Holly works primarily with the elderly in the nursing home and works all hours around the clock to care for them.
Jedrick Wills Jr. donates nearly $50,000 in gifts during his inaugural Winter Blast
Offensive Lineman Jedrick Wills Jr. was in the giving spirit this holiday season, giving away a new car, $10,000 and much more to Cleveland-area families in need.
Hats Off To Our Heroes: Cathy Davis
This week's hero is Cathy Davis, the Administrator for Northern Ohio Recovery Association. Cathy wears many hats and has helped manage to keep the food pantry open during the pandemic, despite the uptick in individuals needing assistance, whether it be from food, mental health or addiction. Cathy mentors the youth by teaching them job skills and helps court appointees reduce their fines by volunteering at NORA. Cathy does a little bit of it all to help those in need.
Browns Award 2020 Marion Motley Scholarship
Last week, as part of the Browns annual 10 days of giving, the Cleveland Browns' and College Now Greater Cleveland's partnership for the Marion Motley Scholarship awarded two Cleveland Metropolitan School District scholars $10,000 to put towards their college education. The Marion Motley scholarship provides an opportunity for Northeast Ohio high school seniors to pursue their dreams of receiving a college education.
Hats Off To Our Heroes: Nick Frank
This week's hero is Nick Frank, a registered nurse at University Hospitals. When the pandemic began, Nick not only had to deal with COVID-19 at work, but also at home, when his 1.5 year old tested positive for the virus. After his recovery, his wife started showing symptoms and Nick stayed home to take care of the household while his wife recovered. Nick not only helped his family through COVID, but numerous others as well.
Cleveland Police Department packs up backpacks for Cleveland recreation Centers
On behalf of Browns' head coach Kevin Stefanski, the Cleveland Police Department packed up and distributed backpacks filled with various Nike gifts such as knit hats, socks and other Browns items.
Arby's Foundation donates $100,000 to "Stay in the Game!" Network
During Day 6 of "10 Days of Giving," the Cleveland Browns Foundation formally announced the presentation of a $100,000 grant from the Arby's Foundation that will benefit Akron Public Schools.

This week's hero is Alice Ramser, the Director & Treasurer of Audrey's Outreach. Alice helped transition from indoor food & supply donations to a drive-through to keep all participants safe during the pandemic. Alice, from all of us at the Browns, we thank you.

This week's hero is Chris Louis, a firefighter and paramedic for the Akron Fire Department. Every shift, Chris is put at risk when making house calls, but he and his team follow the necessary protocols to keep both them and their families safe. Chris, from all of us at the Browns, we thank you.

To continue the Browns' annual tradition of volunteering at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank around Thanksgiving, Browns staff and alumni players packed boxes of food to be distributed to local families in need. Vitamix contributed $2,500 to support the Food Bank's efforts, providing 10,000 nutritious meals.

The Browns, Cavs and Indians, in partnership with Cleveland Votes and the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, hosted National Voter's Registration Day at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Tuesday, September 22nd. The non-partisan event will give all Cuyahoga County residents the opportunity to register to vote in the upcoming General Election.

As part of our Hats Off to Our Heroes initiative, today nearly 500 front line workers wore custom shirts to recognize local heroes keeping students and families fed, healthy and learning since schools closed down in March. These front line workers are food nutritionists, bus drivers, educators and secretaries going into work every day to make sure students and families have what they need to weather the storm. Arby's is joining us to celebrate these heroes by delivering lunch for them as an additional thank you.
