Field Projects

Since 2016, the Cleveland Browns have partnered with the Haslam and Johnson families to install high-quality turf fields across Northeast Ohio, supporting youth football, education, and community programs through Browns Give Back and Stay in the Game!

How it Started

How it Started

In 2016, the Cleveland Browns, in partnership with the Haslam and Johnson families, launched an initiative to provide high-quality synthetic turf fields to Cleveland Metropolitan School District schools. Initially committed to five fields over two years, the Browns have expanded the project, installing 15 fields across Northeast Ohio as of fall 2024, with plans for continued growth. This effort aligns with the Browns Give Back and Stay in the Game! missions, aiming to enhance education and youth football in the community.

Continued Engagement

Each summer, the Browns return to each installed synthetic turf field to host free LEGENDS Clinics, presented by Office Revolution and in association with University Hospitals, Cardinal Credit Union, and Ohio CAT. Open to boys and girls ages 8-14, Browns Alumni and local high school football coaches provide tips and hands-on instruction, including fundamental football skills stations, contests, and non-contact games in a high-energy, fun, and positive environment. The goal is to unite varsity football programs with young athletes of all skill levels, helping to build the next generation of players.

The Browns' field projects are supported through the NFL Foundation Grassroots Program, a nationwide effort led by the NFL Foundation and LISC to improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of local football fields. For 25 years, this program has provided funding and resources to build and upgrade community fields — including many right here in Northeast Ohio.
