Browns Community Highlights - July 3

*The Cleveland Browns are committed to recognizing volunteering efforts in the community. In honor of the 4th of July, this week's USO Edition, highlights those who volunteer their time supporting the military. *

Name: Susan AmatoHometown: Brunswick, OhioHow they give back: Susan's son was in the Army and she helps out with the USO in a variety of fun ways! Susan volunteers at the USO lounge at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport every week, while also arranging for donations of snacks for traveling military. Susan is also head of the committee for the USO Fall Fashion Show. She organizes the entire show, acquires donations for raffles and gift bags, arranges for clothing and models and executes the entire day. Great work Susan!

Name: Dave SikorskiHometown: Parma, OhioHow they give back: Dave's son is currently serving in the USMC. Dave volunteers at USO special events and participates in the planning of events for the military.  He has often stepped in at the last minute if more helped is needed at various events. Along with all of these volunteer opportunities Dave has been a part of, he is also on the planning committee for the 75th Anniversary Gala planning committee and helps to recruit sponsors, as well as help with the execution of the event.

Name: Rafael MoyaHometown: Oberlin, OhioHow they give back: Rafael is originally from Spain and came to the USA on a work Visa. He started volunteering at special events for military families with the USO and has also participated in USO fundraising events.  Rafael was recently enlisted in the US Navy and left for Basic Training a few weeks ago. He is hoping to become a citizen while serving in the Navy.

Name: Fr. Joe PiskuraHometown: Cleveland, OhioHow they give back: Fr. Joe served in the US Army for over 40 years and now makes an impact in a different role! Fr. Joe now volunteers at the Bob Hope USO Lounge every Friday afternoon and goes above and beyond for the military. Fr. Joe also volunteers with several Veteran's Organizations. Fr. Joe does all of this fantastic work to support the military at 86 years old! His support to the military, past and present does not go unnoticed! Thank you Fr. Joe!

Name: Dale SchmidHometown: Lakewood, OhioHow they give back: Dale volunteers on the USO special event planning committee. Dale is amazing at coming up with creative ideas for the military family events, especially 'No Dough Dinners', 'Father-Daughter Dances', 'Breakfast with Santa' and many more. Dale also volunteers at most of the USO's Drill Weekend Breakfast programs for those Reserve and Guard Units on their training weekends. In the last 2 months Dale has made over 1,000 pancakes and always serves them with gratitude and a smile to the military.
