Browns QB Baker Mayfield wins his 5th Rookie of the Week award

Baker Mayfield's fifth NFL Rookie of the Week award gives the Browns a whopping nine for the season.

Mayfield earned his latest honor Friday, beating out Giants RB Saquon Barkley, Bills WR Robert Foster, Colts LB Darius Leonard and 49ers DB D.J. Reed.

Mayfield built off his torrid finish from Week 13 against the Texans by doing the bulk of his damage against the Panthers in the first half. He finished 18-of-22 for 238 yards and a touchdown in Cleveland's 26-20 victory. He finished with a quarterback rating of 126.9, and it marked the second time this season he's thrown fewer than five incompletions in a game. With his 51-yard touchdown pass to Jarvis Landry, Mayfield became just the third player in NFL history to throw for at least one score in each of the first 10 games of his career.

The most Rookie of the Week award wins by a team in a single season is 11, an honor shared by the 2012 Washington Redskins and 2017 New Orleans Saints. The Browns have taken home the award in every week they've had a player nominated.

The Browns' nine Rookie of the Week awards have been split among three players. Along with Mayfield's five wins, running back Nick Chubb (Weeks 4 and 10) and cornerback Denzel Ward (Weeks 1 and 5) each have two.
