The Browns continued their run of form during the preseason, winning 22-13 against the Eagles in their second preseason game.

After getting out of Philadelphia as winners, Cleveland will prepare for its first home game against the Rams on Aug. 23. The Browns have practice three days before the game on Saturday.

With two weeks of preseason done and the Browns returning home for their final preseason game, let's look at three players who made a difference against the Eagles.

RB Pierre Strong Jr.

As the fourth quarter started, the Browns were facing a third-and-2 at their own 28-yard line. Up by six points, the Browns needed a first down to add insurance to their lead.

RB Pierre Strong Jr. took the handoff from QB Tyler Huntley and blazed through the hole that OT Sebastian Gutierrez and G Javion Cohen created on the right side. Nine seconds after the Browns were previously entrenched on their side of the field, they were now at the Eagles 18-yard line thanks to a 54-yard run from Strong.

The run was Strong's longest of the afternoon. He finished the game with 89 yards on 13 attempts, leading the Browns, and averaging 6.8 yards a carry. Strong also had four catches for 10 receiving yards, being a reliable checkdown option for the Browns' quarterbacks.

"When we blocked (the backfield) clean, you saw Pierre (Strong Jr.) and certainly the other guys put their foot on the ground and were able to make some yards," head coach Kevin Stefanski said.

DE K.J. Henry

While Eagles QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson was in the game, the Browns put pressure on him and got into the pocket, finishing with six quarterback hits. One such moment came with the Browns trailing 13-12 in the third quarter.

On first-and-10 in the third quarter, DE Julian Okwara beat the left tackle and hit Thompson-Robinson, sending the ball upwards. DE K.J. Henry got underneath the skyward ball, caught it and ran 45 yards into the end zone for a touchdown. The touchdown gave the Browns the lead, which they retained the rest of the game in part thanks to Henry's pick-six and the Browns' defense.

"He was a later arrival for us coming from (Philadelphia), so it's pretty cool for him to have that moment in the football game," Stefanski said. "Really a good scheme fit, plays really hard (and has) great length."

K Dustin Hopkins and K Andre Szmyt

The Browns kickers, both K Dustin Hopkins and K Andre Szmyt, were a key factor in Cleveland coming out with the win against the Eagles.

The Browns were successful in moving the ball down the field, but when three of their drives stalled out, Hopkins and Szmyt were called in to secure points. Hopkins had the kicking duties for the first quarter and Szmyt took over for the rest of the game. Hopkins made his sole field goal of the game, a 46-yarder, while Szmyt made an extra point, a 33-yard and 49-yard field goal – giving the pair 10 combined points.

Hopkins' field goal gave the Browns a 9-7 lead while Szmyt knocked through a field goal as the half expired. Szmyt's 33-yard field goal came in the fourth quarter with 6:59 left in the game, giving the Browns a two-possession lead.

"Dustin (Hopkins) is doing a great job. Excited for Andre (Szmyt) to make those kicks in that game," Stefanski said.
