Ranking the top 10 plays, moments from Baker Mayfield's rookie season

It was a heck of a ride with Baker Mayfield in 2018.

On the eve of Super Bowl LIII, we're breaking down the top 10 moments from Mayfield's record-setting first year with the Browns.

10. Week 17 at Ravens - Mayfield pitches it to himself before finding Jarvis Landry for long TD**

Trailing 20-7 heading into the second half, the Browns needed a big play to put themselves back in the game. After failing to connect on a long pass in the first half, Mayfield and Landry made it happen on the first series of the third quarter, as Mayfield faked a fly-sweep handoff to Duke Johnson -- briefly letting the ball leave his hands -- before delivering a 48-yard touchdown pass to a wide open Landry.

9. Week 14 vs. Panthers - Mayfield hits Breshad Perriman with 66-yard pass on Browns' first offensive play of the game**

For days, the Browns planned to go deep on their first offensive play against the Panthers, and it couldn't have worked out any better. With the Browns already trailing by a touchdown, Mayfield dropped back, faked a handoff to Nick Chubb, stepped up in the pocket and delivered a strike to Perriman. Cleveland scored a few plays later, and it was game on.

8. Week 3 vs. Jets - Mayfield catches 2-point conversion pass from Landry**

Mayfield never once worked the trick play in practice but he executed it to perfection when Cleveland needed it in the second half against the Jets. Trailing by 2, Mayfield stepped up to the left side of the line while the ball was directly snapped to Johnson, who quickly pitched it to Landry. Mayfield skirted toward the left corner of the end zone and caught Landry's pass to tie the score.

7. Week 10 vs. Falcons - Mayfield rolls out, finds Rashard Higgins for 28-yard touchdown**

On one of his most efficient days of the season, Mayfield delivered a strike to Higgins to get the Browns on the scoreboard. Mayfield faked a handoff and rolled out of the pocket while being chased by Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jarrett. He threw off his right leg to Higgins, who made a leaping catch for the touchdown.

6. Week 15 at Broncos - Mayfield audibles, delivers go-ahead TD pass to Antonio Callaway**

Mayfield loved what he saw so much at the line of scrimmage, he cracked a smile. With the Browns trailing in the fourth quarter, but on the goal line, Mayfield called an audible at the line of scrimmage to set up one of his easiest touchdown passes of the season. He delivered a strike to Callaway, who ran a simple slant, and the Browns took a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

5. Week 12 at Bengals - Mayfield throws 3 TDs in first half on way to rout of Cincinnati**

Everything went right for Mayfield and the Browns offense against the Bengals, as Mayfield led the Browns to touchdowns on their first four possessions of the first half to take a 28-7 lead into halftime. Mayfield threw touchdown passes on three of them and finished with a season-high four in the 35-20 victory.

4. Week 5 vs. Ravens - Mayfield escapes pressure, delivers key third-down pass to Derrick Willies**

With the Browns staring down another potential tie, Mayfield made one of the biggest throws of the season when he stood tough in the pocket, avoided some pressure up the middle and delivered a strike to undrafted rookie Derrick Willies. The play went for 39 yards and set up Greg Joseph's game-winning kick for Cleveland's first win against a division foe since 2015.

3. Week 14 vs. Panthers - Mayfield drops an absolute dime to Landry for long touchdown**

Throws don't get much better than this. Trailing 14-7 in the second quarter, Mayfield, facing a third-and-17, rolled to his left before locating Landry streaking toward the left corner of the end zone. It mattered little that Landry was double-covered, as Mayfield put it where only the wide receiver could catch it for the 51-yard touchdown.

2. Week 17 at Ravens - Mayfield breaks NFL rookie passing TD record**

In just 13 starts, Mayfield did what the previous two record-holders couldn't in a full 16. The Browns rookie threw his record-setting 27th and final touchdown in the last quarter of his rookie season, finding Callaway from the 1-yard line to draw Cleveland even closer in its comeback bid at Baltimore.

1. Week 3 vs. Jets - Mayfield caps magical NFL debut with game-winning drive**

Mayfield didn't throw a touchdown, but he did absolutely everything right on a fourth-quarter drive that ensured it would be a night few would forget at FirstEnergy Stadium. On a drive that went 75 yards over the course of nearly 7 minutes, Mayfield delivered two, key third-down throws to keep the chains moving. A Carlos Hyde touchdown gave the Browns the lead for good, securing the team's first win since Christmas Eve 2016 and setting the table for Mayfield to take over as the team's starting quarterback.
