As the Browns took to the practice field for the fourth day of training camp at CrossCountry Mortgage Campus, in one drill the defensive backs simulated tackling against pads onto a mat. In another, the offensive and defensive line paired up in one-on-one drills to practice blocking and getting off the block.

They closed out the first block of training camp in front of fans Saturday morning – with an off day on Sunday – and when they take to the field on Monday, the Browns will be in pads for the first time.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski discussed how in the first four days they juggled practicing through no contact and used those days to continue teaching their players. While they wait for Monday, Saturday's practice showcased competitive team drills with plays made in the end zone that garnered enthusiastic reactions from fans in attendance.

"It's hard when you're not in pads yet to get a full picture of what that success maybe looks like," Stefanski said. "But we're not in the mode, while we compete every single day. We're in the mode of teaching and learning right now on both sides of the ball. So, I'm pleased with the effort."

As the team continues to build toward more competitive practices, WR Jerry Jeudy is keeping a steady perspective. He isn't too concerned about how quickly things come together.

"There's more than enough time," Jeudy said. "This is only day four, but we got thirty to forty days left until the real season, so we got more than enough time. Enough for me, I'm going to just keep doing me."
