Browns hold final practice in preparation for the preseason opener on Friday

Despite weather concerns on Wednesday morning, conditions improved in time for the Panthers and Browns to hold their first joint practice of the 2025 season.

Before practice began, head coach Kevin Stefanski expressed his excitement to kick off the season against the Panthers – especially with the relationship he has with Panthers head coach Dave Canales. Canales and Stefanski have known one another for over 15 years, as they used to be quality control coaches together in Miami, Fla.

"Obviously thrilled to be here to get to go against the Panthers and Coach (Dave) Canales who I think does an awesome job," Stefanski said. "It'll be fun. It'll be a great challenge for both sides, our offense, our defense."

With Wednesday being the last practice before Friday's preseason opener, Cleveland's coaches worked in reps for every area of the team. The joint practice workout included 7-on-7 periods, team periods, special teams and both offensive and defensive drills.

DE Myles Garrett, who put in reps during the joint practice, sees the value of the joint practice at this stage of the preseason.

"I mean it wasn't perfect as far as it being clean, but the guys are getting after it, competing, stepping up to the challenge," Garrett said. "It's the first time getting in front of another team. I like where our heads are at. I like how well we handled the intensity and tried to raise it to our own. And it was a good step forward in trying to create a standard."
