Cleveland converted on a season-high 57.1 percent of its third downs

The Browns took a 7-0 lead at the 10:42 mark in the first quarter, but the Bills scored a touchdown on their next possession and led for the rest of the game. Cleveland brought the game within three points with a 41-yard field goal by K Andre Szmyt but were unable to score on their final two offensive possession. They dropped their 12th game of the season, falling 23-20 to the Bills.

Here are 10 key numbers from the Week 16 matchup.

0.5 – DE Myles Garrett recorded a half sack against the Bills. The combined sack brought his season total to 22, one sack from breaking the NFL single-season sack record. He and DE Alex Wright surrounded Bills QB Josh Allen as they chased him down before Allen fell at his own 1-yard line in the second quarter.

2 – The Bills recorded two interceptions against the Browns. The first Bills' interception came in the first quarter, as QB Shedeur Sanders' pass bounced off RB Quinshon Judkins and Bills S Jordan Poyer came down with the ball. The second interception was a result of Sanders trying to fit a ball in between DE Joey Bosa and DT DaQuan Jones. Bosa tipped the pass attempt, and Jones caught the ball at the Cleveland 25-yard line in the third quarter.

3 – The Browns' defense held the Bills to three points in the second half. On two of six Buffalo possessions in the second half, the Bills were forced to a three-and-out. The Bills also finished the second half with 62 total yards after gaining 197 total yards in the first half.

4 – TE Harold Fannin Jr. caught four passes for 34 yards against the Bills. Fannin has caught multiple passes in every game during his rookie season. His four catches against the Bills bring him to 70 receptions this season and give him the most receptions by a Browns rookie, breaking the previous record of 66. Fannin also finished the game with a receiving and rushing touchdown, scoring both of Cleveland's touchdowns in Week 16.

5.7 – The Bills averaged 5.7 yards per carry, the highest average the Browns have allowed in a game this season. RB James Cook III averaged 7.3 yards per carry on 16 carries, while RB Ty Johnson averaged 5.3 yards per carry and RB Ray Davis averaged 4.7 yards per carry. Cleveland limited Allen to 2.4 yards per carry, his third-lowest average this season.

11 – Buffalo hit Sanders 11 times in Week 16. DE Greg Rousseau led the Bills with seven quarterback hits, a career high. LB Matt Milano notched two quarterback hits while Poyer and DT Deone Walker each had one. Rousseau led Buffalo in sacks with 2.5, splitting a sack with Poyer.

12- LB Carson Schwesinger tallied 12 combined tackles, his sixth-straight game recording double-digit tackles and seventh game this season. He has 137 combined tackles, building on his Browns rookie record in the category. Schwesinger also led Cleveland in sacks with one, sacking Allen for a loss of 13 yards in the fourth quarter to force a fourth down.

57.1 – The Browns converted 57.1 percent of their third downs against Buffalo, their best percentage this season. They converted eight of 14 third downs, their most since Week 1 against the Bengals. Cleveland gained first downs on its first four third downs of the game.

117 – Cook ran for 117 yards against the Browns, tied for his fourth-most this season. He tied his season-high in rushing touchdowns with two, including a 44-yard rushing touchdown to tie the game at seven in the first quarter.

130 – Allen finished the game with 130 passing yards, his lowest output this season. He completed 12 of 19 passing attempts, tying his season-low in both completions and attempts. He also recorded zero total touchdowns for the third time this season.
