The Browns are set for their second matchup this season against the Ravens in Week 11, this time playing them in Cleveland at Huntington Bank Field on Nov. 16.

The Browns head into the divisional matchup after losing 27-20 to the Jets in Week 10, giving up two special teams touchdowns and 10 fourth quarter points. Cleveland will continue to try to rebound this season, trailing the Steelers by three games in the AFC North.

"Disappointed with that result yesterday, and we're spending time right now watching it with the players and trying to learn from that," head coach Kevin Stefanski said. "Hard to win on the road and certainly hard when you do some of the things we did in that ballgame, but we're committed to this thing. We'll just find ways to get better in all areas, and we'll go from there. Big division game at our place this week."

Here are the main topics to kick off Week 11.

Carson Schwesinger continuing to impact the game

LB Carson Schwesinger played every defensive snap for the Browns against the Jets just two weeks after suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 8, according to Pro Football Reference. Schwesinger led Cleveland in tackles with nine and added two tackles for loss, two quarterback hits and half a sack.

"The kid's playing at an extremely high level," Stefanski said. "For him to come back from that injury and perform like he did was incredible to watch. Throughout the bye week, he just kept getting better and better, and we felt like there'd be a chance of him playing. I haven't looked around the league at how other guys are playing, but I'd be hard-pressed to believe there's a rookie defensive player playing better than him."

Schwesinger, a 2025 second-round pick, leads the Browns in tackles with 69 with six tackles for loss and an interception. He has displayed his speed and power throughout the season.

Against the Jets in the first quarter, Schwesinger burst through the offensive line and lunged at Jets QB Justin Fields to impact the pass. Fields had to loft his pass as he was falling to the ground as a result of Schwesinger getting to him so fast. Jets RB Isaiah Davis caught the pass, but Schwesinger's impact allowed CB Tyson Campbell and S Grant Delpit to stop Davis for a 1-yard gain. Then, with less than two minutes left in the fourth quarter, Schwesinger and LB Devin Bush got into the backfield and tackled Jets RB Breece Hall to force a fourth down.

"Everyone watching the game can see the type of impact a player like that has. It's been great," S Ronnie Hickman said. "He's a young guy but he's able to impact the game in such a tremendous way. For him to come back after the little injury he had and still be extremely productive and making plays for us, it's huge and just a testament to the type of player he is and how much he wanted to be back out there with these guys."

Tommy Rees' first game as the play-caller

Offensive coordinator Tommy Rees called the offensive plays for the first time in his NFL coaching career against the Jets. Stefanski gave play calling duties to Rees following the bye week, announcing the change on Nov. 3.

The Browns totaled 278 net yards, their best offensive output since Week 5 against the Vikings. Cleveland ran for a season-high 158 rushing yards versus New York, including QB Dillon Gabriel running for a career-high 54 yards. Gabriel also threw multiple passing touchdowns for the second consecutive game.

"I thought (Tommy Rees) did a great job," C Ethan Pocic said. "I have trust in every coach on the staff to call plays or whatever their role is, and I thought Tommy filled in and did a real good job."

Cleveland's offense also had challenges along with its success. On third down, the Browns converted just six times on 16 attempts. Then, on a fourth-and-1 in the fourth quarter with 10:21 left in the game, Gabriel was sacked seven yards behind the line of scrimmage. Pocic said the players could have executed better in the loss to help Rees and the offense further.

"There's some hidden yardage out there that would've made Tommy look even better, but we just have to execute a few more plays," Pocic said. "We scored 20 points. It could've been better. We could've executed a little better."

Cleveland confident in its abilities

With the loss to the Jets, Cleveland fell to 2-7 on the season. However, players like Hickman and Pocic are staying confident in their ability to have success in the final eight games of the season.

Pocic said that while Cleveland lost to New York, there are still bright spots on the tape for the Browns to take from the game. As a result, he said that the Browns are going to keep working in order to try and fix the course of the season.

"The only option in this league is to just fight. Keep fighting. There's no other option," Pocic said. "That's all I know. That's all we know. To do anything else and not strive for wins and fighting (for) perfection, that's all we know."

Hickman mentioned how the losses are a test of the bond that the Browns have and the family atmosphere that Stefanski helped build. Because of the chemistry the Browns have with one another, Hickman said the tough conversations will remain tough, but Cleveland will learn from them to grow as a team.

Stefanski reinforced the need to improve as the Browns get ready to play the Ravens at home in a divisional game.

"Bottom line, we need to play better football on all three sides of the ball, and we're going to start doing that this week at home," Stefanski said.
