#BrownsCamp Daily: Why next week's joint practices matter for Thursday's preseason opener

Freddie Kitchens was reluctant to go into any details about how his lineups will look for Thursday's preseason opener against the Redskins. Given that Tuesday was his last press conference before Cleveland takes the field against Washington, it's fair to say we'll find out about who's going to play at the actual game.

"We are just trying to get through tomorrow," Kitchens said after Tuesday's practice, another full-pads physical affair on a balmy day in Berea.

Kitchens, though, made one admission. The Browns' upcoming joint practices against the Colts -- slated for Wednesday and Thursday of next week -- will be factored into the decision-making process. Those practices are expected to be just as -- if not more -- physical than what the Browns have endured for the past week-plus.

"I am pretty sure (Colts Head Coach) Frank (Reich) wants the same thing so you have to factor in all of those things," Kitchens said. "Ultimately in September, you want to get them there healthy, but there is also a fine line between getting them there healthy and getting them there battle-hardened and battle-tested for what is going to happen because from this moment on, they are never going to feel perfect until February. We have to get used to playing like that."

Here's what else you might have missed from the final practice before the start of the preseason.
