By the Numbers: Browns left with little answer for Chargers run game

CLEVELAND — Breaking down Sunday's 38-14 loss to the Chargers…

246 — In a game where the Browns were overpowered from start to finish, the Chargers dominated on the ground with 246 yards rushing and three touchdowns.

132 — Leading that charge was star running back Melvin Gordon, who had 18 carries for 132 yards and all three of those touchdowns.

109 — The lone bright spot on offense for the Browns was running back Duke Johnson, who finished with 109 all-purpose yards. 

5 — Rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield was sacked five times in a game where he completed 22-of-46 throws for 238 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. 

34 — Los Angeles kept Browns lead back Carlos Hyde in check all afternoon. He finished with 13 carries for 34 yards. 

118 — Chargers wide receiver Tyrell Williams caught three passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns.

55 — Browns tight end David Njoku caught seven passes for 55 yards and a touchdown.

8 — Free safety Damarious Randall led the Browns with eight tackles.

24 — Sunday's loss was the Browns' largest since a 25-point (35-10) loss to the Cowboys on Nov. 6, 2016.
