The Browns defeated the Buccaneers, 23-19, on the back of two second-half touchdowns on their final four possessions.

Following a field goal filled first half that saw the Browns down 9-6 at halftime, QB Deshaun Watson and the Browns' offense found the end zone late in the fourth quarter to take the lead. After resuming play following a long weather delay, the Browns kept Tampa Bay out of the end zone to notch their first win of the 2026 regular season.

Here are 10 key numbers from the Browns' win against the Buccaneers.

1 – CB Myles Harden tallied the Browns' one turnover of the game, intercepting QB Baker Mayfield late in the first quarter. The interception marked the first of Harden's career. In addition to his interception, Harden also notched two passes defensed, which was a game high.

2 – Cleveland scored two second-half touchdowns after not finding the end zone on their first eight drives. The first touchdown was a 55-yard pass from Watson to WR Denzel Boston in the third quarter, and the second was the go-ahead score on a reception by TE Blake Whiteheart with less than four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

3 – The Browns' defense recorded three sacks, as S Grant Delpit, S Ronnie Hickman and DT Mason Graham each took down Mayfield in the win. Graham has tallied sacks in back-to-back games to open the season to lead Cleveland's defense while Hickman notched his first career sack.

7 – On defense, Cleveland recorded seven tackles for losses by seven different players. DE Derek Barnett, CB Tyson Campbell, DE Isaiah McGuire, LB Carson Schwesinger, DE Jared Verse, LB Quincy Williams and Graham each recorded one in the game.

11 – K Andre Szmyt tallied 11 points, including three field goals and two extra points. Szmyt kept the Browns in the game early, converting on both 50-yard and 34-yard field goals in the first half. His three field goals tied his career-high, which he did twice during the 2025 season against the Steelers and Ravens.

15 – On offense, the Browns recorded 15 first downs, with 10 coming through the air, three on the ground and two by penalty. One of the biggest came on third-on-1 on the Browns' eventual go-ahead touchdown drive, where Watson found TE Harold Fannin Jr. for a 6-yard gain to extend the drive.

17 – Watson found Whiteheart for the go-ahead 17-yard touchdown with under four minutes left in the fourth quarter. The reception was Whiteheart's only of the game but came at a pivotal time to help secure the Browns' first win of the 2026 season. The touchdown also marked the second of his career.

95 – Boston posted 95 receiving yards on five receptions, including a 55-yard touchdown reception late in the third quarter that tied the game. Boston led the Browns in receiving yards and recorded his second straight game with a touchdown of 45 or more yards. He is the third Browns' receiver to have a touchdown reception in each of his first two career games, joining Andre Davis in 2002 and Bobby Mitchell in 1958.

182 – The Browns held Mayfield to just 182 passing yards on 34 attempts. Tampa Bay struggled to move the ball effectively through the air against the Browns' secondary, mustering only 5.4 yards per attempt.

238 – Watson threw for 238 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions to help the Browns beat the Buccaneers. He completed 24 of 30 pass attempts, leading touchdown drives on two of the Browns' final four possessions.
