Pregame Notes:
Rocky River (0-0) is led by second-year head coach Josh Wells, who tallied an 8-3 record and Great Lakes Conference championship in his first season with the Pirates in 2015.  Fairview (0-0) is led by Tom Narducci, who has been the head coach of the Warriors since 2011 and led the Warriors to a 5-5 record in 2015.
The teams open the season against each other for the sixth year in a row, with the Rocky River Pirates looking to win their third straight against the Warriors of Fairview.  In 2015, Rocky River was able to defeat Fairview 49-0 in the season opener.

After graduating nineteen seniors, the Pirates will look to senior captain, TE/LB Jack Rogers to bring the team together and build on last year's success. The Warriors return veteran QB/LB Josh FilKill, who was a 2nd team all-district pick at linebacker a year ago. The Pirates will look to get the run game in motion early to pressure Fairview defensively, but with home field advantage the Warriors are expecting to win.

The Pirates lead the all-time series 46-32-2. Will the Warriors prevent a three game win streak for Rocky River, or will the Pirates get the hat trick with an explosive offensive performance?

Good luck to both teams and stay tuned for a post-game report.
