This week's Cleveland Browns High School Game of the Week presented by Ohio Cat in association with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) will feature Ellet and Lutheran East on Friday, Oct. 4.
In this week's matchup, the Ellet Orangemen will host the Lutheran East Falcons. Prior to kickoff, the Cleveland Browns will have a brief field dedication ceremony. The gift is a reflection of Browns Give Back’s commitment to education, youth football and the first and ten volunteering initiative. The Ellet High School synthetic turf field is dedicated to Akron Public Schools by Dee and Jimmy Haslam and the Cleveland Browns.Â
Both teams are coming off close conference wins last week. Lutheran East beat East (Youngstown) in a nail biter, 22-20. Ellet matched up against Kenmore/Garfield (Akron) and won 15-8. This week's non-conference matchup will feature two highly competitive teams.Â
Lutheran East's senior running back and outside linebacker Andre Parker Jr. had three touchdowns and 122 rushing yards against Richmond Heights during week two. Ellet's junior quarterback Ethan Jones completed 50 percent of his passes while scoring two touchdowns during the win against Springfield in week one.
In 2018, the Falcons lost the matchup against the Orangemen 40-21. Jones had a stellar performance during the win racking up two receptions, 27 receiving yards, 13.5 yards/rec and one touchdown. The Falcons look to avenge last year's loss by beating the Orangemen on their new home turf.Â
Good luck to both teams and stay tuned for a post-game report.
