Madison takes on Perry in week 3 of the Game of the Week

!

Perry @ Madison
Records: Perry 2-0; Madison 1-1
What: Nonconference rivalry game
Date of Game: Friday, September 9
Kickoff: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Madison High School, 3100 Burns Rd, Madison, OH 44057

Pregame Notes:

Perry (2-0) is led by 9th year head coach Matt Rosati who tallied a 10-2 record in 2015.

Madison (1-1) is led by 9th year head coach Tim Willis who comes off an 11-2 record in 2015.

Perry enters the game following an 8-3 victory over Brush in week two.  The 8-3 victory came in peculiar fashion.  Of the game's 30 possessions, 25 of which were affected by at least one penalty.  Despite the high volume of infractions, Perry's senior RB/DB Josh Petrucceli was able to rush for 94 yards on 22 carries to move the offense along, while senior WR Andrew Foley reeled in 12 yard TD pass from junior QB Kolston Brewster for the game's only touchdown.  Madison comes into the matchup after earning their first win of the season against Lakeside, beating the Dragons 18-6.  Senior QB Josh Gibson led the way going 8-12 with 90 yards passing and 1 touchdown, as well as carrying the ball for 46 yards and a touchdown.

This week 3 matchup is an interesting one.  As a nonconference rivalry, the teams have played for the Little Brown Jug trophy every year since 2008.  Perry evened the series at 4-4 with a nail biter last year, beating Madison 27-26.  Who takes the lead in the rivalry series? Will the Little Brown Jug stay with Perry for another year, or will Madison take back possession?

Good luck to both teams and stay tuned for a post-game report.
