Five players' jerseys will feature the "C" jersey patch just above their number for the 2025 season.
Joel Bitonio, Corey Bojorquez, Joe Flacco, Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward were all voted team captains by their teammates. Head coach Kevin Stefanski announced the captains following Thursday's practice.
"It means everything when you are elected by your peers," Stefanski said. "I think what these guys do, what they put their bodies through and how they work at their craft, your teammates respect that and how important this is. What your teammates are doing here is saying, 'Hey you represent us,' not only just at the coin toss, which they will represent us there, but in the building they represent us. Who are the guys that when you say 'Hey this is what we're about,' that's who we are talking about. So, for them to pick those five guys, I think it just echoes what we believe and echoes our identity, so that they can be stewards for what we believe in."
Three of the five captains served in the role during the 2024 season, with Bojorquez and Flacco stepping into the new role for the 2025 season. This is the first time since signing with the Browns in 2022 Bojorquez has been named one of the captains.
"I think it's a great honor for Corey," Stefanski said. "He's a guy that I think our players know, he works very hard at his craft and he's somebody that is accountable to his teammates all the time. Great personality, but I think it says a lot when it's your peers voting for you."
The Browns announced their five team captains for the 2025 season, naming Joel Bitonio, Corey Bojorquez, Joe Flacco, Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward as captains. Three of the five players served as captains during the 2024 season, with Bojorquez being named a captain for the first time since signing with the Browns in 2022.
