Training Camp

Browns RG Kevin Zeitler out with calf injury

Browns starting right guard Kevin Zeitler will miss at least a few weeks with a calf injury, head coach Hue Jackson said.

Zeitler did not practice Thursday and walked off with a trainer midway through Wednesday's session.

"(He's) going to be down for a little while," Jackson said.

Zeitler, who enters his second season in Cleveland, started all 16 games last season and is considered one of the NFL's top interior linemen.

Zeitler's injury comes as the Browns tinker with their offensive line, moving longtime left guard Joel Bitonio to left tackle and rookie Austin Corbett to left guard. Third-year offensive lineman Spencer Drango has filled Zeitler's spot with the first-team offense.

Zeitler was named the team's Ed Block Courage Award winner last season for battling through a thumb injury.
Cleveland plays at the Giants next week in its first preseason game.
