S Grant Delpit has earned the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for games played Oct. 16-20 (Week 7), the National Football League announced on Wednesday.

Early in the second quarter on the Dolphins kickoff return, Delpit poked the ball out of Dee Eskridge's arms to force the fumble, which S Rayshawn Jenkins then scooped up for the recovery. The forced fumble set the Browns up for their second touchdown of the day.

"He was awesome," head coach Kevin Stefanski said. "Grant was flying around. That whole safety position. Grant is playing at a really high level, a leader for us, just great on and off the field, but, man, he's playing physical."

Delpit's presence on the field extended past just the forced fumble. He recorded two tackles on special teams, as well as two tackles, one tackles for loss, one sack and two quarterback hits on defense.

Late in the second quarter, Delpit broke through and sacked QB Tua Tagovailoa for a loss of seven yards and forced the Dolphins to punt. The sack was Delpit's first of the season. In the fourth quarter, Delpit blitzed Tagovailoa, recording a quarterback hit and pressuring him to throw the ball that was then intercepted by Jenkins.

This is the first career weekly league award for Delpit. He joins K Andre Szmyt (Week 3) as Browns players to be named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week this season.
